DRJ Fall 2019: Disaster Recovery Resiliency in an Uncertain World

Michael Henry

As a long-time member of the Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) industry, Mail-Gard finds great value and an important sense of community among our BC/DR peers. One of those valuable partnerships is with the team at Disaster Recovery Journal (DRJ), and we have a long history of exhibiting at their biannual conferences. This year’s DRJ Fall World conference is returning to Phoenix, AZ, and it promises to be both timely and informative.

This year’s theme is “Innovations in Managing Risk and Resiliency.” The DRJ Fall conference always coincides with the height of hurricane season on the East Coast, wildfire season in the West, and everything in between, which only reinforces the urgency and the importance of the work we all do as part of this complex field. Although many conversations at DRJ Fall 2019 will be buzzing about the damage caused by Hurricane Dorian, this show will also educate and remind us all that it’s vital to think outside the box when it comes to being prepared!

There’s Plenty to Look Forward To at DRJ Fall 2019—Like a Free Proof-of-Concept Test from Mail-Gard

The DRJ Fall conference agenda offers a great assortment of innovative sessions that address some growing threats in the business world, as well as offering some tips and training on creatively managing your Enterprise Resiliency Program (ERP). Even if you’ve already got a BC/DR plan in place, DRJ Fall 2019 will help attendees refocus on what is still missing in their plans. One of the sessions that caught our attention is “Planning for an Infectious Disease Pandemic: A Major Gap in Business Continuity Plans!” presented by Dr. Lisa Koonin of Health Preparedness Partners. We’ve noticed a significant uptick in questions around pandemics as part of our client audit requests, so this session seems very well-timed and promises to be beneficial to BC/DR providers and the companies that rely on them.

As an exhibitor, Mail-Gard always looks forward to catching up with our clients while making new business connections. That one-on-one time gives us the opportunity to learn from these businesses about their BC/DR planning and to talk about the importance of having a print and mail solution as part of a comprehensive BC/DR plan—one component that frequently gets overlooked! Mail-Gard is dedicated to helping clients fill the gaps in their BC/DR plans with a solid print and mail backup solution, and we’re offering free proof-of-concept tests to conference attendees to show them how Mail-Gard fits the bill!

The DRJ Fall 2019 runs September 29–October 2. If you’ve never attended a DRJ show or haven’t yet decided about this year’s show, I invite you to check out the show’s website and consider how your team might benefit from this experience. And if you’re planning to attend, please let us know—we’ll be in Booth #302.
