Wow! Who would have thought when the postal community gathered in May 2019 for the National Postal Forum (NPF) in Indianapolis that it would be three long years before our community could get together in-person again? That’s why this admitted “postal geek” is so eager to reconnect with his mailing industry friends at this year’s National Postal Forum at the Phoenix Convention Center, where the theme will be “Facing the Future. Together.” I’ll be presenting (live) with my IWCO Direct colleague, and Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC) Co-chair, Bob Rosser.
IWCO Direct at NPF: Why Marketers Choose Direct Mail
If you will be attending the National Postal Forum, be sure to stop by room 224A at 10:30 on Wednesday, May 18 for our presentation “Direct Mail: The Key to Marketing Success.” We’ll discuss why marketers are choosing direct mail, the role direct mail plays in omnichannel success, and why data is critical to integrating direct mail with partner channels.
Also on Wednesday at 2:30, I will be facilitating a roundtable discussion with my USPS partner Laura Ambrogio on “USPS Promotions: Creating Opportunities for New Growth,” during the Peer-to-Peer session being held in rooms 224 A and B.
If you’ve ever wondered what the Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC) is all about, Bob will be presenting “MTAC 101” at 2:45 Sunday in Room 223. You’ll also be able to find Bob or me in the exhibit hall at the MTAC booth (#122) between 1:30 and 3:30 on Tuesday.
Engaging with USPS Leadership
One of the things I like best about the National Postal Forum is the opportunity to engage with senior Postal Service leaders, in both formal and informal settings.
The keynote by the Postmaster General will highlight organizational changes and other objectives for the coming year, and many of the vice presidents will lead sessions about their areas of expertise. I also look forward to meeting with the regional and division managers and their teams who support postal logistics and processing operations that support our facilities.
The networking receptions are the perfect opportunity to share thoughts, pitch ideas, and explore concepts to make mail more valuable with our USPS partners and industry colleagues in a relaxed setting.
Keeping Abreast of What’s New
The National Postal Forum exhibit hall has the most comprehensive assembly of software developers and equipment suppliers supporting the direct mail industry to be found anywhere. The opportunity to walk the floor and experience the new tools IWCO Direct’s partners are offering, or to discover what other vendors have to offer is extremely valuable to our team to ensure we offer our clients the most effective programs.
The National Postal Forum is also a great place to learn. It offers a variety of workshops in five robust tracks―technology, operations, eCommerce, the value of mail, and professional development―so be sure to find the track that fits you and check out a couple (or more) sessions.
We look forward to seeing you next week in Phoenix! If you would like to learn more about why direct mail is the key to marketing success, please send me an email, and we can talk.
