IWCO Direct’s Plans for 2021: Enhancing Technology and Expanding Our Team

When I joined IWCO Direct in May, I looked forward to the challenge of continuing to advance our highly effective, data-driven marketing solutions and help our clients achieve even greater marketing success. While the persistence of the COVID-19 pandemic has made pursuing this goal more challenging than any of us could have anticipated, I’m pleased to report that the IWCO Direct team has stepped up and stayed focused on powering the success of our clients’ marketing programs. Not only did we strengthen our world-class marketing strategy, creative, and analytics practice; our operations team continued to meet client requirements for their mailing programs, meeting in-home targets more than 99% of the time. Here’s a little more information about our plans for 2021:

Expanding Team

We are pleased to have been able to add several new members to our leadership team during 2020. Stephen Flood joined as EVP Sales in July, and Sarah Corrigan came on board in September as Senior Vice President Human Resources/Environment Health and Safety. We also announced earlier this month that Mike Parker has joined IWCO Direct as Chief Marketing and Solutions Officer. As an innovator in omnichannel marketing for more than 20 years, Mike will bring strong leadership as we continue to grow our creative and marketing services teams. As Wes Sparling recently shared, we are in the process of adding resources to our strategy and analytics team. In fact, just this month we’ve hired a director of analytics. We will continue to build our team and fill strategic leadership roles into 2021.

Enhanced Technology and Workflow

The year ahead will bring news of technology, systems, and infrastructure enhancements to make us even more agile, reliable, and responsive. One exciting milestone we already have achieved is to secure a multi-million dollar capital investment from our parent company, Steel Partners, to purchase new equipment and technologies in 2021 to increase our capabilities and ability to compete in the market. One of the first investments we will make in 2021 will expand our already industry-leading digital print platform. We are currently vetting equipment that will allow us to offer the flexibility and relevance of digital print to a wider array of clients. This equipment, in conjunction with piloting a new approach to how work flows through our facilities, will allow us to enhance speed-to-market and recency for our clients.

As Meg Hanaman noted a couple weeks ago, we are also leveraging our Continuous Improvement team to provide project management support for what we’re calling our “Innovation Initiative,” which is designed to drive cost and process innovations for IWCO Direct and our clients. This initiative focuses on developing new, creative ways of engaging with our clients, our partners, and our internal teams.
