Congratulating Bob Rosser on MTAC Industry Vice Chair Election

Jim Andersen

We hope you saw the exciting news we shared earlier today that Bob Rosser, director of postal affairs at IWCO Direct, has been elected as Industry Vice Chair of MTAC. Bob will serve in that role until the end of next year, at which point he will transition to Industry Chair through the end of 2023.

While Bob prefers to work behind the scenes, you may recall reading about the Circle of Excellence award he received from Idealliance last year, which recognized his significant contributions to the mailing community. Our clients also count on him to develop postal optimization strategies to make the best use of their budgets while meeting their in-home delivery requirements. He believes, like everyone at IWCO Direct, that it’s important to advocate for the mailing industry and help the Postal Service adapt to a changing landscape.

MTAC’s Important Role in the Mailing Community

Bob Rosser elected MTAC Industry Vice President

Bob Rosser

If you’re not familiar with MTAC, it’s a venue for the USPS to share technical information with mailers, and to receive their advice and recommendations on matters concerning mail-related products and services. This feedback is used to enhance customer value and expand the use of these products and services for the mutual benefit of mailing industry stakeholders and the Postal Service.

Over the years, Bob has held leadership roles in many important MTAC workgroups that have benefited the mailing industry, including:

  • The Workgroup that supported the development and roll-out of USPS hardware and software for PLANET Code mail tracking, which was an early step on the road to the Intelligent Mail Barcode and the Informed Visibility (IV) platform that powers the mail intelligence we leverage today.
  • Workgroup 143, which drove development of Seamless Acceptance procedures for Letter mail.
  • Workgroup 180, which focused on enhancing and optimizing mail preparation for Flat mail.

In addition, he has served as Focus Area Leader for Mail Preparation and Entry for the past three and a half years.

We know how important the Postal Service is to our business, our clients’ businesses, and the overall economy. It’s incumbent upon all of us to help ensure its long-term future, and it is good to know postal experts like Bob Rosser and Kurt Ruppel are providing their expertise and leadership with important organizations like MTAC, EMA, and PostCom.

Please join me in congratulating Bob on his new role with MTAC. We know he will do a great job and continue to be a champion for the mailing industry.
