Looking for a Summer Internship? Visit Us at the Upcoming UW-Stout Career Conference

Bev Lohs

It might still be February, but our minds are already focused on summer when a new crop of summer interns joins our team and allows us to be mentors while also inspiring us with their knowledge and fresh outlook. If direct marketing is in your blood, we hope you’ll join us later this month at the UW-Stout Career Conference, where we’ll be looking for passionate and inquisitive up-and-comers for internships and full-time positions with IWCO Direct.

This career conference is one of our favorites, and there’s good reason we’ve had a presence at the UW-Stout Career Conference for more than a decade. Their marketing programs translate well into our business and the positions we often have available. In fact, UW-Stout has a healthy alumni base within IWCO Direct.

If you’re a Stout student looking for a summer internship in a fast-paced company that works with many of the most well-known brands in the country, I hope you’ll make a point to visit us at the career conference next week.

Areas We’re Interested in Filling

This year, we’re focused on filling summer internships in the following areas:

  • Human Resources
  • IT Solution Design & Delivery
  • Front-End Operations
  • Technical Writing
  • IT-User Support
  • Maintenance Administration
  • Creative Services
  • Marketing

Whether you’re looking for a summer internship or a full time position, there are a number of ways you can stand out as a potential candidate. Outstanding applicants will have strong verbal and written communication skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and curiosity and enthusiasm for the direct marketing industry. You should also do your homework on IWCO Direct and be interested in gaining a full understanding of the scope of direct marketing, from initial strategy to creative and production. You should also embrace the value we place on diversity and creating an inclusive work environment.

How to Increase Your Chances for an Interview

We look for candidates who leave a lasting impression on our hiring team. Keep these tips in mind while you’re preparing to meet us:

  • Be well prepared, dress professionally, and come relaxed. This will ensure your true self shines through and makes a good first impression.
  • Research us on iwco.com to get a feel for what we do and if the position fits your interests.
  • Be ready to explain what sets you apart from everyone else and why you are a good fit, both for our culture and the position you’re interested in.

While we’re evaluating you, you should be evaluating us too in order to make sure the fit is right. You should know IWCO Direct has been a leader in direct marketing for nearly 50 years, and we’re consistently ranked as one of the largest direct mailers in North America. We have excellent training, mentorship, and coaching to help new hires succeed, and we take pride in offering opportunities for growth and career advancement. But it’s our culture that really sets us apart. Even though we’re a large and growing company, employees are treated like they’re part of a small family business. Everyone is incredibly passionate about their careers, and we want to add even more passionate people to grow our business and our team.
