For those of you who haven’t heard, I was named the conference chair for the 2016 thINK Conference that starts in just over a week in Boca Raton, FL. Since my last update in July, we have been hard at work wrapping up the final details to make this a really strong, interactive networking event for Canon users. In fact, we began planning for this year’s conference before last year’s inaugural event had even concluded.
thINK is an independent community of Canon Solutions America (CSA) production print customers, solution partners and print industry experts. It’s led by some of the most successful inkjet service providers in the country. This dynamic, collaborative community provides a forum to network with peers, share best practices, and learn from industry leaders and solution partners.
We’ve lined up four great keynote speakers: Chris Evert, David Humphreys, Jonathan Margulies and Greg McKeown. Of great interest to those of us in the marketing space, Margulies will discuss the future of direct mail after a decade of disruption. I’m especially intrigued by McKeown’s presentation, which will examine how we can get more done by narrowing our focus and not spreading ourselves across multiple projects. Could this be the end of multi-tasking?
thINK 2016 is offering five educational tracks: Business, Marketing & Selling, Color, Data & Workflow, and Technical. Each will feature five sessions ranging from beginner to advanced topics. We will have a wide variety of presenters including industry experts, equipment users, Canon subject matter experts, vendor partners and data experts.
As conference chair, I got the best session title, “I Like Big Data and I Cannot Lie.” But I’m proud to say that I won’t be the only IWCO Direct speaker at this event. My colleague, Debora Haskel, VP Marketing & Corporate Communications, will moderate a panel on the basics of using data to drive variable content, while another colleague, Mike Ertel, EVP Sales & Marketing, will join a panel on selling inkjet. In addition, Mike Todryk from our Color Team will discuss how we manage color fidelity across multiple technologies, especially inkjet.
thINK 2016 will again feature a Partner Pavilion showcasing 35 vendor partners, including paper companies, software suppliers, finishing vendors and more. Attendees can network with these partners between sessions or during a cocktail reception Tuesday evening. Another “must see” is the CSA Customer Experience Center located at CSA headquarters. The Customer Experience Center includes a media lab that partners with paper and ink vendors to ensure inkjet service providers achieve the best possible color reproduction.
If you are a user of Canon production inkjet devices, or even just considering acquiring one of these devices, you’ll find attending thINK 2016 to be time well spent networking with peers and partners. Join us and learn while you’re having fun at this exciting event! Then be sure to check back with SpeakingDIRECT in a few weeks, when we’ll share a recap of what we learned at thINK 2016.
