Color consistency and accuracy is something marketers take very seriously. With significant resources invested in corporate identities, they want to ensure their specific colors are reproduced correctly. For instance, it’s likely that you recognize Target, John Deere and UPS as much by their distinct color as the shape of their logo. That’s why today’s announcement that we’ve achieved Idealliance G7 Master Qualification for both lithographic and digital inkjet technologies across our platform is so important.
If you’re not familiar with the G7 Master Qualification, it’s an industry-leading set of best practices from Idealliance for achieving gray balance and is the driving force for achieving visual similarity across all print processes. It allows us to reproduce a similar visual appearance across all printing types and substrates.
Although we first achieved G7 Master Qualification for our lithographic equipment in 2013, we knew it was important to expand it. Because digital inkjet has become such a positively disruptive force in the direct mail arena, we dedicated significant time and resources to expand our G7 Master Qualification to our digital inkjet equipment as well. After all, the color of our clients’ brand identities should be accurate and consistent no matter where it’s produced or what equipment it runs on.
If you follow our blog you know how important quality and consistency are to us. We’ve sent our people to Germany to help ensure new ink sets meet our standards. We work with our paper suppliers to find the best substrates for our clients. Today’s announcement is yet another example of our focus and commitment to quality control.
But just as important as achieving the G7 Master Qualification is having in-house color experts who help maintain our certification and ensure our clients’ materials are consistently accurate. To maintain their status, our experts must attend training courses from Idealliance and achieve a minimum level of 90% proficiency. To ensure they are current on the latest technology and best practices, recertification is required every two years.
We have built one of the most advanced production platforms in the direct marketing industry, and having the latest training and certifications ensures our clients get the most value from it. I’d like to thank all of the employees who worked so hard to achieve our G7 Master Qualification. If you have any questions about how gaining this G7 Master Qualification achievement helps ensure the accurate and consistent color quality of your materials, please contact your account manager or our sales team.
