Many of us at Mail-Gard will be crisscrossing the country throughout April and May attending trade shows and conferences focused on business continuity and disaster recovery. It all starts at Xploration 15 next week, followed by Continuity Insights, RIMS and finally wrapping up at the Document Strategy Forum.
We’re very excited about next week’s Xploration 15 show. From the conference keynote, to pre-conference sessions, to a track focused on EDBOK: The Electronic Document Book of Knowledge, the event promises to be an informative one. (We’re especially excited about the EDBOK track because Mail-Gard contributed the sections of the book on contingency and recovery plans for critical printed documents.)
One of the most interesting and relevant aspects of Xplor is the pre-conference intensive sessions hosted by Madison Advisors. This year they have a session titled, ‘Minding Your Print & Queues: Job Scheduling, Tracking, and Optimization” that I’m certain will be very insightful for anyone involved in the production of print.
Another exciting aspect of this year’s event is a special Vendor Introduction opportunity Xplor is calling “speed dating.” Participating vendors will have 15 minutes to discuss their products and services in a smaller venue than a standard presentation, which gives us a chance to go in depth about what customers are looking for and describe in greater detail how we can help.
We’re also looking forward to the keynote speaker, Devon Harris. He was an original member of the 1988 Jamaican bobsled team and captain of the 1992 and 1998 teams (which the movie Cool Runnings was based on). We’re interested in hearing his thoughts on overcoming obstacles and pursuing one’s dream despite overwhelming odds.
Xploration 15 certainly seems to have something for everyone. People come to Xplor looking for customer communication solutions. Whether they have a critical communications recovery plan in place, or are looking for a solution, we can provide the knowledge they need to ask the right questions of their operations and recovery teams to make sure their plan is solid. If you will be attending, please send me an email and we’ll schedule a time to meet, or simply visit us at Booth 134 during the event.
