This morning we were proud to announce that our own Dave Johannes and Jared Johnson provided strategic insight for the development of “The Designer’s Guide to Inkjet,” a new book from Canon Solutions America.
Written by Elizabeth Gooding and Mary Schilling, it was developed to be a comprehensive resource for agency and in-house designers to optimize their work for high-speed, production inkjet technologies. This is an important topic, as there are special considerations when designing for inkjet. We are frequently asked for best practices on designing for inkjet from our clients, and education in this area is crucial. This is also a recurring issue we’ve written about at SpeakingDirect, where you can find a collection of articles on designing for digital.
The authors acknowledged the contributions of Dave and Jared with these kudos, “Special thanks to Dave Johannes of IWCO Direct for his vision and on-going support of the project, and to IWCO [Direct]’s creative designer, Jared Johnson. As a creative designer in his own right and someone tasked with ‘fixing the files’ from other designers who have not been educated about the world of production inkjet, Jared’s feedback on the guide was invaluable.”
On that note, it’s important to recognize Dave’s role as an extremely active champion of inkjet technology within the direct marketing community, even earning the title of “the elder statesman of digital technology” at last year’s InkJet Summit. He also serves on the board of thINK, a newly formed independent community of Canon Solutions America production print customers, solution partners and print industry experts that provides a forum to exchange information and share best practices. Dave’s contributions help keep IWCO Direct and our clients at the forefront of these advancements.
As noted in the release, IWCO Direct has developed a strong partnership with Canon Solutions America. We were the first company in the U.S. to install the Océ ColorStream® 3500. We currently have six ColorStream 3900s across our platform with additional equipment to be added in the future. And we are working closely with them as they develop new technologies and processes to meet the needs of our industry.
Incorporating Jared and Dave’s insight into the book is another example of that partnership. We want to acknowledge their contributions and thank Canon Solutions America and the authors for tackling this important project. I encourage you to request your copy today.
