Community Giving Efforts Serve Local Families and Organizations

Bev Lohs

The season of giving (and of giving thanks) has been in full swing at IWCO Direct. Each year, we look forward to serving our communities and doing our best to help those in need. Here’s a look at just some of the causes our employees have supported recently, but first, a big thank you to all who have given freely of their time and energy this holiday season. Without your generosity and dedication, none of this would be possible.

Hamburg – United Way Campaigns

Employees participated in a basket raffle to raise donations for the United Ways of Berks and Schuylkill County. Along with the raffle, the Hamburg team also enjoyed wearing their favorite sports jerseys and eating their favorite football snacks as a way to “kick-off” the giving season.

Warminster – United Way School Supply Drive

The Warminster campus worked with the United Way of Bucks County for their Stuff the Bus Campaign. Employees donated backpacks filled with school supplies to families and children who otherwise may not have been able to afford them.

Little Falls – Local Organizations, Families in Need

Employees recently hosted several shift fundraisers. Events included bake sales, luncheons, raffles and drawings – all to raise money for local organizations like the Morrison County Chaplaincy Program, which works with local law enforcement officers to respond to critical incidents, and Nouis Home Care, which provides group residential housing to assist military veterans. They also reached out to families in need and plan to host a drive to support the Morrison County Food Shelf.

Chanhassen – Making Strides Against Cancer Walk, PROP School Supply Drive

A team of Chanhassen employees – appropriately named the “Breast Cancer Kickers” – participated in the Making Strides Against Cancer Walk on Saturday, Oct. 12. Prior to the event, the team held a bake sale to collect donations to fight breast cancer. Chanhassen employees also participated in the community’s local School Supply Drive sponsored by PROP.

Corporate – Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota

IWCO Direct again sponsored the MPM awards celebration during which the Robert J. Dayton Quality Mentoring Awards were presented. Twelve IWCO Direct associates attended this event in support of youth mentoring.

Thanks again to all of our employees. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
