Conference Roundup: Business Continuity and Recovery Top of Mind for Mail-Gard®

Mail-Gard® has just returned from an exciting few weeks meeting and greeting customers and prospects at three business continuity and recovery conferences. While it feels like we just got done unpacking our bags, here’s the lowdown from each show:

RIMS 2013 Annual Conference & Exhibition

The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Conference was held in Los Angeles this year. With more than 4,500 risk managers and executives in attendance, it was by far the largest conference on our schedule. While Simon Sinek and Howie Mandel headlined the show as keynote speakers, the pre-conference workshops and general sessions provided the most valuable information and conversation. They covered everything from business continuity planning regulations and best practices to critical issues facing risk professionals in the insurance industry.

Mail-Gard also took part in the RIMS “Treasure Trek” program, which encouraged attendees to stop by each booth to receive a special stamp registering them for a grand prize drawing at the end of the show. Not only was it fun to see people excited about the $10,000 grand prize, but it allowed us to introduce Mail-Gard and discuss our products and services with a large portion of attendees.

2013 Continuity Insights Management Conference

Our Mail-Gard team took on the “divide and conquer” mentality to attend the 2013 Continuity Insights Management Conference in San Diego, which was held at the same time as RIMS. This show is geared toward the business continuity professional. Breakout sessions focused on “how-to” recommendations from conducting emergency response exercises to energizing a business continuity program. Topics also included data management and security strategies such as moving to the cloud. Many of our customers attend this show to stay current with trends in the recovery industry. These sessions were designed around real-life continuity experiences like Superstorm Sandy.

DOCUMENT Strategy Forum

Mail-Gard also added the Document Strategy Forum in Greenwich, CT to our conference roster this year. Mail-Gard attended the inaugural event in 2007, and we are happy to report it was a great success six years later. The 2013 show focused on the life cycle of critical documents from design, creation, delivery, remittance and archiving. With our expanded service offerings in Electronic Postmarked Email and Document Capture Recovery, along with our continued focus on print-to-mail recovery, we shared a lot of great information and continued the critical document conversation.

Contingency Planning & Management Conference and Expo

We’ve got one more small conference to attend – the Contingency Planning & Management (CPM) Conference and Expo in Washington D.C. from May 13-15. At the end of this show, we will pack away our booth for the summer and look forward to the next big conference on our calendar in September. DRJ Fall World 2013 will be here before you know it.
