New State of the Art Mail Facility Showcased During Supplier Summit

Shortly after I joined IWCO Direct, one of the first initiatives we implemented was to create our annual Supplier Summit. We knew it would become an important venue to thank our business partners for their contributions to our success, but as importantly, share with them where we are as a company, where we are headed, and how they can best help us on the journey.

Every Supplier Summit is different. Most of us remember the years in the mid-2000s when the direct mail industry was booming and bad news was hard to find. This was followed by a few challenging years in 2008-2009 when the economy and mail volumes dropped. We’re currently faced with one of the most complex business environments in recent memory. Volumes have steadied, but pricing pressure has become a constant constraint for all of us in the direct mail supply chain.

The one driver to thriving in this environment is innovation. It is the key to our continued success and future growth. During the Supplier Summit we shared a few examples of how our suppliers have provided innovative solutions that helped us achieve the efficiency and sustainability goals set in collaboration with our customers. At the Supplier Summit we challenged our vendors to continue to provide not only innovation, but flawless execution, impeccable service, continuing education and constant communication – and they all were up for the challenge.

Make no mistake; everyone at IWCO Direct is committed to sustainable, organic growth. Being an industry leader is in our DNA, and we will continue to lead. The new mailing operation center we showcased for the first time on Monday is a good example of that industry leadership and innovation. After touring comparable mail facilities across the country we can confidently say this is one of the cleanest, best organized and most technologically advanced mailing facilities in the industry. It will drive efficiencies to help our customers execute highly effective campaigns to power their marketing.

We’d like to once again thank our business partners for their continued support, and we’re looking forward to a dynamic and successful 2013.
