I am proud to share that my long-time business partner and IWCO Direct and CEO, Jim Andersen, was presented with the 2010 Harry V. Quadracci VISION Award during the Offset & Beyond Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, last week. This prestigious honor is awarded annually on behalf of Printing Industries of America and the Web Offset Association to one printing industry executive who has reached an unsurpassed level of excellence and achievement in the industry.
I couldn’t agree more that Jim meets these criteria hands down. Since joining IWCO Direct in 1999, Jim has been a visionary leader, transforming IWCO Direct into a top national player in integrated direct marketing solutions. He has helped our company and our customers navigate this incredibly challenging economic climate with clarity of purpose and a positive outlook. Under his leadership our ability to execute and deliver highly effective direct marketing campaigns has been significantly strengthened with the recent acquisition of Transcontinental Direct’s U.S. operations.
Jim’s acceptance speech provided valuable insight and inspiration for the direct marketing industry – recalling guidance provided by Harry Quadracci over the years and encouraging direct marketers to focus on creating value to drive the recovery of the industry.
Perhaps the most important quality of Jim’s leadership was underscored with his comments on employees. He urged print executives to consider employees wellness, and touched on the fitness programs IWCO Direct has instituted under his direction to not only improve the well being of our team members and sustain exceptional work quality, but also combat rising health care costs.
On behalf of all my colleagues at IWCO Direct, we extend a big “Congratulations” to Jim on earning this prestigious award and an even bigger “Thank you” for his exceptional leadership that is guiding IWCO Direct successfully into the future.
