Mentorship
At IWCO Direct, we strive to be stewards of the communities in which we operate. There is perhaps no better example of this than our company-wide commitment to mentoring.
Through our connections to the Minnesota Business Partnership’s MBP Connections program and the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota, IWCO Direct employees are given the opportunity and resources needed to make an impact in a young person’s life. It is our belief that youth benefit from having mentors in their lives, and that mentoring helps kids avoid risky behavior, improves their social interaction and self-esteem and helps kids achieve their dreams.
While these may sound like lofty goals, research has shown that young people with mentors are 46% less likely to begin using drugs and 52% less likely to skip school. They are also more likely to graduate high school, go to college and be hopeful about the future. These are outcomes we can all feel good about.
